About Pressure Converter

Pressure Converter swaps between SI units (pascal, kilopascal, megapascal), technical units (bar, millibar), imperial (psi, psf), atmospheric references (atm, mmHg, torr, inHg), and water-column heights (mH2O, inH2O). Useful for HVAC and refrigeration specs that mix psi and kPa, tyre-pressure gauges that switch between psi and bar across country borders, and weather forecasts that quote millibars. All factors use full precision; the panel runs as a single static page and works offline.

Best for

  • Tyre pressure gauges that switch between psi and car stickers in bar
  • HVAC and refrigeration spec sheets mixing psi and kPa
  • Weather forecasts in millibar compared to a US reference in inches of mercury

Pros

  • +Pa, bar, psi, atm, mmHg, torr, mH2O all in one panel
  • +Atmospheric (mmHg/inHg) and water-column (mH2O/inH2O) handled
  • +Local JavaScript only; no signup, no uploads, works offline

Cons

  • −No gauge-absolute distinction; you do the +1 atm math
  • −Specialty units (kp/cm2) not included

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between bar and psi?
1 bar = 100 kPa = 14.5038 psi. Car tyre pressures in Europe are commonly quoted in bar (e.g. 2.3 bar); the same gauge read in psi is roughly 33 psi. The panel shows both so borders don't trip you up.
How do gauge and absolute pressure differ?
Gauge pressure is measured against atmosphere; absolute is measured against vacuum. To convert gauge-to-absolute, add 1 atm (~101.325 kPa). The panel doesn't do this automatically — enter the value you mean.
Why include mmHg and inHg?
mmHg (millimetre of mercury) is the torr — used in barometric pressure, blood pressure, and vacuum work. inHg is the US weather equivalent. The panel translates between the two so forecasts across borders compare cleanly.
What about water column (mH2O)?
1 mH2O = 9.807 kPa. Common in plumbing, hydraulics, and pump specs. The panel includes it so pump head and pressure gauge readings translate cleanly.
Are my pressure inputs uploaded?
Never. Conversion is fully local JavaScript. Tyre pressures, HVAC readings, weather data never leave your device.
