Privacy-First File Conversion for the Modern Web
ChameLeo was built on a simple conviction: you shouldn't have to surrender your personal documents, photos, or media to unknown cloud servers just to change a file format. Powered by WebAssembly and client-side processing, ChameLeo converts 200+ formats entirely inside your browser tab — private, fast, and free.
Our Mission: Privacy by Architecture
Most online file converters follow an outdated server-upload pipeline: your files travel across the internet to a third-party server, wait in a remote queue, and are stored temporarily before you download the result. This exposes sensitive contracts, family photos, financial statements, and ID scans to potential leaks, data breaches, and cloud indexing.
ChameLeo flips this paradigm. By leveraging modern WebAssembly (WASM), Web Workers, and browser-native media APIs, the entire conversion engine runs directly on your computer or phone. Your files never touch our servers because there is no server upload step in our pipeline.
How ChameLeo Works Under the Hood
WebAssembly (WASM) Engine
We recompiled battle-tested open-source libraries like FFmpeg and Tesseract OCR into WebAssembly bytecode, executing natively in your browser sandbox with near-native speed.
Multi-Threaded Web Workers
Heavy processing tasks run in dedicated background threads, ensuring your browser interface remains snappy, smooth, and fully responsive throughout the conversion.
Zero-Cloud Architecture
Files are loaded into volatile browser RAM via local Blob URLs and garbage-collected immediately upon completion. Zero bytes of file content are transmitted over the network.
Core Values
Radical Privacy
We don't need a privacy disclaimer that promises 'we delete files after 1 hour'. With ChameLeo, we never have your files in the first place.
Instant Execution
No upload wait times and no server queue delays. Small and medium files convert in seconds directly using your local CPU hardware.
Universal Accessibility
No account creation, no subscriptions, no software downloads. Works on Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
