Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 29, 2026
By accessing ChameLeo, you agree to these Terms of Service. ChameLeo features zero server file uploads; all conversion utilities run 100% locally within your browser with zero server storage. You retain complete ownership and copyright of your files, warrant that the files you process or convert are lawful and unencumbered, and acknowledge that all processing runs on your own device.
1. Provider & Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ChameLeo Team ("ChameLeo", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the ChameLeo website, web application, and associated client-side utilities (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Services. For legal questions or support, please reach out via our Contact page.
2. Nature of Service & Zero Subscriptions
ChameLeo provides client-side file conversion and processing tools powered by WebAssembly (WASM) and browser APIs. The Services are offered entirely free of charge for personal, educational, and general web use. There is no file upload stage in ChameLeo. Your files are never transferred to or stored on any remote server; all conversions take place directly using your device hardware resources (RAM, CPU). Unlike cloud platforms, ChameLeo requires no account registration, collects no payment details, and maintains no server queue.
3. Intellectual Property Rights & User Warranties
User Content Ownership: You retain 100% full, exclusive ownership, copyright, and intellectual property rights in all source files you input into ChameLeo, as well as all converted output files. ChameLeo claims zero ownership, license, or distribution rights over your content. User Warranty: By using the Services, you represent and warrant that: (a) you own the files or possess all necessary licenses, permissions, and legal rights to format, convert, and process them; (b) your files do not infringe upon any third-party copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, or privacy rights; and (c) processing your files does not violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations. Platform Intellectual Property & Restrictions: The ChameLeo brand, logos, UI designs, source code, and conversion components are the exclusive intellectual property of ChameLeo Team. Integrating, embedding (via iframes, APIs, or scripts), copying, or reselling our services, tools, or source code in third-party client projects, software, or websites without prior written permission is strictly prohibited.
4. Acceptable Use Policy & Prohibitions
You agree to use ChameLeo exclusively for lawful purposes. You shall not: • Process, convert, or distribute files containing unlawful, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit, or fraudulent material; • Inject, transmit, or package malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, or malicious payloads into processed files; • Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or launch denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks against the web hosting infrastructure, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), or network resources powering ChameLeo; • Employ automated scrapers, bots, crawlers, or extraction scripts designed to abuse, replicate, or degrade the availability of the Services without prior written authorization; • Copy, embed, or integrate ChameLeo's conversion components, code, or interface into third-party software, client projects, or commercial products without prior written consent.
5. DRM-Protected and Password-Protected Files (Local Decryption & Compliance)
DRM-Protected Content: ChameLeo cannot and does not convert or decrypt media files protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies, including Apple FairPlay, Google Widevine, Microsoft PlayReady, Adobe Adept, or proprietary e-book and audio DRM systems. ChameLeo operates solely via standard browser decoders and includes no DRM circumvention or decryption capabilities. Password-Protected & Encrypted Files: ChameLeo does not bypass, crack, or circumvent password protection or cryptographic locks on documents, archives, or media (such as encrypted PDFs or passworded ZIP/RAR archives). Attempting to use ChameLeo to circumvent access controls or encryption measures is strictly prohibited. Local Compliance & Legal Responsibility: Because your files are never uploaded to our servers and ChameLeo has zero visibility into your content, you are solely responsible for ensuring that you possess the lawful rights, licenses, or fair-use authorizations to convert and format your local files under applicable digital copyright laws.
6. Corrupted, Incomplete, and Non-Standard Files
Conversion success depends upon source file integrity. ChameLeo cannot guarantee successful conversion of: • Corrupted, truncated, or unfinalized files (such as video recordings missing index headers, container tables, or moov atoms); • Files encoded with non-standard, experimental, or proprietary codecs unsupported by standard browser and WebAssembly decoders; • Incompletely downloaded files or streams with damaged file signatures.
7. User Backup Obligation & Data Loss Risk
ChameLeo operates entirely within your browser and does not maintain server file storage, cloud backups, or recovery systems. You are solely responsible for creating and maintaining independent backup copies of all original files prior to conversion. ChameLeo Team bears no responsibility or liability for any data loss, file corruption, browser tab termination, or device operating system memory exhaustion occurring during or after conversion.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services and all associated tools are provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied. ChameLeo Team explicitly disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, accuracy of converted outputs, and non-infringement. Conversion performance depends entirely on your local hardware resources (CPU, GPU, RAM) and browser environment.
9. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall ChameLeo Team, its contributors, authors, or hosting providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including loss of profits, data, revenue, goodwill, or business interruption) arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Services. Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChameLeo Team and its operators from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or relating to your violation of these Terms, your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights, or your misuse of the Services.
10. Modifications, Severability & Contact
Modifications: We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms of Service at any time. The updated date at the top indicates when revisions take effect. Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions. Contact: If you have questions regarding these Terms, please reach out through our online Contact form.
