About Currency Converter

Currency Converter fetches live exchange rates between 150-plus world currencies — USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, TRY, INR, BRL, ZAR and many more — and applies the spot rate to your input amount. A single request to a public FX endpoint runs on demand from your browser the moment you submit the currencies; the rate snapshot is cached for the session, no other data leaves your device. Useful for travelers budgeting a multi-currency trip, freelancers invoicing abroad, shoppers comparing international prices, and finance teams sanity-checking an imported-quote before booking. The tool does not store or forward your conversion results.

Best for

  • Freelancers invoicing clients in a different currency before a payment run
  • Travelers planning a multi-stop budget across EUR, JPY, TRY and INR zones
  • Online shoppers comparing international storefront prices at the current spot rate

Pros

  • +Rates pulled live from a public FX endpoint on request, not an old cached snapshot
  • +150+ currencies including exotic and high-inflation ones like TRY and ARS
  • +All math runs in your browser; nothing else is uploaded

Cons

  • −Rates are spot and indicative, not inter-bank transactional — banks add a spread
  • −Weekend quotes can lag: FX desks close Sat–Sun; refresh Monday for fresh ticks

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the exchange rates come from?
From a public foreign-exchange API polled on demand from your browser when you submit currencies. The tool does not store rates itself — it caches the snapshot for your session and refreshes on the next conversion after the cache expires.
Are these rates the ones my bank will charge me?
Close, but the bank adds a spread and often a fixed fee on top of the interbank spot. Use the rate as a reference midpoint; your final transaction could differ by 0.5–3% depending on the card scheme and the bank.
How fresh are the rates?
Live on each session; the tool refreshes the snapshot periodically. On weekends the spot market is closed, so Saturday and Sunday quotes effectively replay Friday's close until Tokyo opens Monday morning.
Does this work with high-inflation currencies like TRY or ARS?
Yes — inflation-style floating currencies are in the feed, but their spot moves hour-by-hour. For planning beyond a few days, re-pull the rate close to the actual transaction date.
Are my currency amounts uploaded anywhere?
Only the rate request goes out to a public FX endpoint. Your input amount stays in your browser; the conversion math itself runs locally and is never sent anywhere.
