Frequently Asked Questions
What is a POTX file?▼
POTX is a PowerPoint template — a reusable design with theme colors, fonts, and placeholder layouts that new presentations are built from. It carries the styling, not the content.
POTX vs PPTX — what is the difference?▼
A POTX is a template (theme and layout), a PPTX is a full presentation (content and design). Start from a POTX to apply consistent branding across new decks.
Why convert a POTX template?▼
Designers and teams share templates as PDF to preview, or convert them to PPTX to start a real editable presentation from the stored design.
Can I open a POTX without PowerPoint?▼
Only in compatible office apps. Converting the template to PDF lets anyone preview the design; converting to PPTX makes it a normal editable deck in any office suite.
Are my brand templates uploaded when converting?▼
No. Conversion happens locally in your browser — proprietary templates and brand assets stay on your device.
